Julie Sell

Special Education Support

Julie joined Designs For Learning in April 2025 as Special Education Coordinator, bringing more than 20 years of experience supporting K-12 students in multi-categorical special education programs. Her background includes grant writing, collaborating on multidisciplinary teams to strengthen program design, and developing assessment administration training for special education staff.
Julie holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Special Education from Florida State University, as well as a Reading Specialist Endorsement from Hamline University. She is licensed in K-12 Special Education in Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Mild Impairments, and Reading.
At Designs, Julie works closely with school teams to conduct assessments, write timely and clear reports, mentor teachers, and coordinate evaluations. She has experience across a variety of special education settings and previously led the development of an online learning program for special education students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She values Designs' collaborative culture, flexibility, and the trust to do her work well, supported by a strong special education team.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys birding, reading, gardening, painting, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family.
